Community
We are involved in a range of community activities which align with our core business skills and activities. In doing so we work closely with The Groundwork Trust, Young Enterprise, EBP's (Education Business Partnerships) and the Prince's Trust.
Our objective over the next 18 months is to contribute to community projects and programmes that promote:
- Education, skills and employability – as a large employer we are committed to investing in this area supporting the communities we're part of to raise their aspirations and contribute to neighbourhood regeneration and wealth creation.
- Employee volunteering – ensuring that our employees have the support they need to make a positive impact in their community and facilitating their voluntary contributions to local projects.
- Customer focus – working with charities and community organisations to improve our service to customers, for example, looking at improvements to call centre access mechanisms for disabled and older people.
- Environmental sustainability – working with voluntary sector organisations to encourage energy efficiency.
- In-kind support – donating cash, equipment and time to assist UK charities, schools and community organisations.
